An Important Photo Correction!

We were notified this week that our January blog post about last fall’s Southern Stars winners had an incorrect photo.

The winner of Senior I Division Solo/Duet/Trio was correctly listed as “Mirror” (Ginny Mount School of Dance), but we had the wrong picture attached. Here’s the correct photo, which we received yesterday.

Congratulations to our talented winning dancer, and we apologize for the error. (The photo will also be corrected in the original post.)

Please remember – for privacy and safety reasons we don’t blog the names of the dancers themselves, but we do our best to help all our dancers and teachers receive the praise they deserve for a job well done. Let us know if you catch an error in any of our coverage, and we’ll do our best to correct it immediately.

Early Registration Deadline October 8

Planning to attend the Fall Convention October 23-24?  Register before October 8 and save!  Forms and information are available at the SADM website.

Don’t forget that teachers receive one FREE workshop for every eight (8) paid students.  Male students (no assistants) receive half-price workshop fees.

SADM Receives “Dedicated to Dance” Award

The United Dance Merchants of America (UDMA), an organization that encourages the growth and development of dance, has named the Southern Association of Dance Masters (SADM) as one of the 2010 recipients of the Dedicated to Dance Award.  This new, annual honor is being awarded to organizations and/or people who have shown untiring, remarkable dedication to the dance industry and who have fulfilled the needs of dance studios and dance teachers through extraordinary means.  SADM is one of five nationwide recipients that was honored at the UDMA Dance Resource and Costume Show in Atlanta in September.

Member Dues deadline is March 31!

Have you paid your 2010 dues?  Don’t let the calendar sneak up on you — your dues are due by the end of this month.  A late fee of $20 is added to dues paid after March 31 — pay on time, and save some extra money for fun at the convention!

2010 SUMMER BALLET FORUM

Do you have students ages 12-21 with a minimum of two years of classical ballet training? If so, talk to them about participating in the SADM Summer Ballet Forum at the upcoming convention in Memphis!  This is a great opportunity to train and interact with professional ballet faculty.  Stay tuned for registration details!
